12-year-old boy drowns while swimming with friends in Ilorin, Kwara state (photos)

A 12-year-old boy, recognized as Lekan Benjamin drowned on the Asa River in Ilorin, Kwara state whereas swimming together with his pals.

It was gathered that Lekan a Junior Secondary Faculty scholar went swimming with a few of his classmates whereas getting back from college, when he drowned.

The Director of the Kwara State Hearth Service, Falade Olumuyiwa who confirmed the incident in a press release described the incident as unlucky.

He famous that at about 13:21hrs on Tuesday, March 16, the State Hearth Service attended to the scene, at Ejiba Highway, off Stadium highway, Ilorin.

The sufferer was nevertheless recovered lifeless from the river by the firemen and handed over to his organic father, Mr Monday Benjamin.

Olumuyiwa (CFO) consoled the household of the sufferer and suggested dad and mom to observe over their kids’s motion with the intention to stop future related occurrences.
