Stakeholders and leaders of thought from Abia North Senatorial District of Abia State have thrown their weight behind the ban on open grazing and the call for national dialogue by the southern governors.

In a communique issued against the backdrop of rising insecurity in the state and the nation at large, which was made available to DAILY POST in Umuahia, the state capital, on Thursday, the people of the zone, lamented that the Federal Government by its inactions has failed to promote ranching which they opined, is the acceptable method of cattle rearing.

The people also lauded the Governor for facilitating the enactment of a law against open grazing in the state before now, and the formation of the Homeland Security.
“We also salute Ikpeazu-led government for strengthening and equipping Abia State Vigilante Services,” they added.
The communique was jointly signed by Barrister James Okpara(Bende), Naval Capt. Osondu rtd (Isuikwato), Chief Ndidi Okereke (Umunneochi), Mazi Donatus Okorie (Arochukwu), Chief Mba Ukaha (Ohafia) and Hon Abraham Oba (on behalf of Abia State House of Assembly).
