A pastor, Christopher Ebenyi has confessed after he was caught defiling a 5-year-old woman after visiting her house in Ebonyi.

He has been arraigned by the Ebonyi State Police Command on Friday.
It was gathered that the 45-year-old man had gone to the sufferer’s home to promote some immune booster medication to her mom, when the incident occurred.
The sufferer’s mom was stated to have gone out to purchase some gadgets when Ebenyi allegedly took benefit of the woman.
The mom, who spoke to PUNCH Metro on situation of anonymity, stated, “The pastor got here to our home to promote some medication to me. Earlier than he got here, I had it in thoughts to get some issues for the home. So, I left him and my daughter to go and purchase these issues.
“Once I received again house, I noticed the pastor inserting his fingers in my daughter’s personal elements. I shouted and he stated it was the satan. I known as individuals, who got here round and beat him up. Finally, he was arrested.”
The defendant confessed to the crime.
In his confessional assertion, he stated, “I’m Pastor Christopher Ebenyi. I’m from Eziulo within the Ishielu Native Authorities Space. I do know the sufferer at Convent in Abakaliki. I received to their home and known as her; she got here and I touched her personal elements.”
He was arraigned on one depend of indecent assault earlier than the Justice of the Peace’s courtroom.

The counsel for the defendant, C.F. Ogbonnaya, utilized for his bail, which the prosecuting counsel opposed on the grounds that he may run away.
The Chief Justice of the Peace, Mrs Nnenna Onuoha, granted the defendant bail within the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
In accordance with Onuoha, the defendant have to be resident inside the jurisdiction of the courtroom.
She adjourned the matter until January 28, 2021, for trial.
